Say what you will about the mega-chain Best Buy, but this year, I think they’ve done a terrific job of creating a brand experience for shopping at their online store.
The brand’s been titled the Wow Factor Finder, and offers great gift ideas based on a short survey about the intended recipient. From a marketer’s perspective, this is a great way to gather data on not only who is shopping at the store, but what the criteria might be for those on the receiving end of the giving equation.
Add to that a large store of videos placed on YouTube that showcase individual products that might make a great gift for the intended, and you have a virtual storefront of demonstrations for those that are less technically savvy.
The site isn’t fancy. It’s well constructed. And it features videos of actual humans, rather than those insipid animated characters that so many sites are featuring. Just what the doctor ordered at this hectic time of year.
